Regional NSW public holidays
Regional and Local Public Holidays NSW
Local public holidays can apply to a specific town, council area or defined locality and may be full-day or part-day declarations.
How NSW local public holidays work
Local public holidays are separate from the statewide NSW public holiday calendar. They commemorate events of special significance to a local community, including agricultural shows, cups, race days and festivals.
The declared area and hours are important. A local holiday can apply to only part of a council area, and a nearby town may not share the same holiday.
Local Event Days are different: they can recognise a community event but are not declared public holidays for work purposes.

Why the old regional URL has been kept
This page existed on the previous NSW Public Holidays website. It has been retained as the main regional-holiday guide so older bookmarks and search results continue to lead to useful, current information after migration.
